Hemp refers to strains of cannabis plant which are used to manufacture products for non-drug use, items such as rope, clothes and fuel. Cannabis plants produce chemicals call cannabinoids which produce the high effect as well as mental and physical effect when used.

The main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant is Tetrahydrocannabinol, otherwise known as THC. This was first separated from the plant by Raphael Mechoulam and Yechiel Gaoni in Rehovot, Israel in 1964.

When Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is cold in its pure form, it becomes a glassy solid, while when it is warmed, it becomes a really sticky viscous substance which leads to its various varieties.
