Hi. I’d like to share my story of marijuana addiction. I started smoking about a year ago in University. It quickly became a daily thing, and I stopped going to class because it was easier to fail than take initiative. I wasn’t like that before I started getting stoned. Fast forward to this month, and I’ve cut back twice. The first time, I stopped smoking except once a day or so and went to the gym every day. I felt awesome, better than ever, and kept that up. The second time was yesterday, when I stopped smoking entirely. I’ve had diarrhea, cramping, restlessness, and anxiety (I’m not sure if it’s anxiety, but every so often I will need to take a few deep breaths and calm down due to some far-away reason, probably cannabinoid downregulation).
I know a lot about drugs. I’ve done plenty of psychedelics, including LSD, shrooms, and Shulgin’s list of the magical half-dozen. It’s true that weed can be psychologically and even to an extent, physically addictive. Cessation won’t kill you, but it sure is crappy when you’re used to being stoned 24/7 and suddenly stone sober.
